Jamyang Mindrol-ling (as Jamyang Coventry) Coventry has been an FPMT study group since 2009.
Before then as Coventry Buddhist Group, the group had been meeting informally to practice Buddhism for over 10 years.
The first teacher was the Sri Lankan Monk Venerable Subodhi Bhikku; but in 1999 recieved a visit from Geshe Tashi Tsering, the resident teacher at Jamyang Buddhist Centre in London, which inspired the group to become a part of the FPMT.
Currently meetings are led by resident teacher Ven. Lobsang Dawa.
Ven. Dawa was one of the party who took refuge with Geshe Tashi in 1999. Since then he has been studying Buddhism with Geshe-la and other FPMT teachers, and in 2003 took his first ordination with Geshe Tashi at Jamyang in London.
He spent two years at Nalanda Monastery in France, returning in 2005 to organize Jamyang Coventry. In 2008 he took full ordination in India with His Holiness the Dalai Lama. After acting as the group co-ordinator for the last eight years, he has recently been confirmed as a registered FPMT teacher.
