Lama Zopa and Lama Yeshe with an unidentified monk, Lawudo, 1972

We are a network of Buddhist Centres and groups, who work together to fulfil the wishes of our Founder Lama Thubten Yeshe and Spiritual Director Lama Thubten Zopa Rinpoche.

Lama Thubten Yeshe wanted his students to establish Buddhist Centres to be like a family, so here in the UK we offer spaces for sincere practice and study under the guidance of our qualified registered FPMT teachers and loving Sangha (Monks and Nuns).

As the home of authentic Buddhist teachings within the Tibetan Gelugpa tradition in the UK we are part of the international Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FPMT) family and support His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.

The FPMT is a not-for-profit organisation founded in 1975 by Lama Thubten Yeshe (1935-84) and Lama Thubten Zopa Rinpoche, both Tibetan Buddhist monks.

The Foundation is devoted to preserving and spreading Mahayana Buddhism worldwide by creating opportunities to listen, reflect, meditate, practice and actualize the unmistaken teachings of the Buddha and based on that experience spreading the Dharma to sentient beings.

Our organization is based on the Buddhist tradition of Lama Tsongkhapa of Tibet as taught to us by our founder Lama Thubten Yeshe and spiritual director Lama Zopa Rinpoche.
